Congress Hall, Philadelphia PA
So here’s the Second Floor, which wasn’t that extravagant, just a hall and rooms on each side. This floor is where the Senate met, well these are the meeting rooms, and the secretaries and stuff stayed here. The Senate met in a room at the end of the hall, which I will post pictures of that in the next photoset.
Portraits of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, presented as gifts from the French monarch following the American Revolution, hang in adjoining committee rooms, the rooms I was talking about. What was cool was that they had maps of the US hanging in the committe rooms, and they are old maps from back then. I have a picture of the room with Louis’ portrait but it didn’t come out as well as the one with Marie Antoinette.
